Kristofer Weston: sexy, blue eyes, smile intense, sculpted body and charismatic charm, a great porn actor? Not exactly. In the world of pornography currently Kristofer is now one of the largest and most awarded directors but behind it a history of porn actor. Director of line Buckshot of COLT Studio Group, Kristofer man is a brilliant, fascinating and successful, as I would not have been able to interview this chimera which is managed successfully both in front that behind the camera?

Carlo: how long you were a porn actor?
Kristofer: for five years, from 1990 to 1995.

Carlo: how long you have been in the world of porn?
Kristofer: I started my career as a porn actor then I have always worked in the field, "different positions".

C: How did you come to direct porn films?
K: I was the owner of a company for a time, one day I decided that I tried to direct a film and I threw. Fortunately, I managed to pretend professionalism and security, and over time I learned.

C: you remember your first shooting as a director? Eri excited?

Brotherhood
Buckshot Productions

Buckshot Productions releases Brotherhood, the swan song from Buckshot Man Danny Roddick, who passed away this summer.  The film is set during one wild night at a fraternity house. When Roddick's character is discovered to be working in gay porn films to pay for school, he is forced to confront his hot, "straight" fraternity brothers in a series of steamy sex scenes.

Standout performances include Buckshot favorite Dean Phoenix as a big dicked hick, and Sebastian Rivers plays a football player with a dirty jockstrap fetish.

Director Jerry Douglas, of GAYVN Award Winner and Hall of Fame, among other classic titles, brings his unique aesthetic to Brotherhood--the story gives equal weight to the sex on screen and the building of solid relationships between the characters. Up Close with Dean Phoenix

Before Brotherhood, it was Jerry Douglas who brought Dean Phoenix out of retirement, so to speak. The film was BuckleRoos and, at the time, Phoenix hadn't stepped in front of the cameras in nearly two years.

It was the first time Dean bottomed on film and the performance scored him a Best Actor GAYVN trophy. It was also one of the first times a documentary film crew went behind the scenes on the making of a porn. William West sat down with Phoenix in February to discuss the film and what Phoenix had in the pipeline.

GayWired.com: How has Buckshot's award winning film BuckleRoos changed the types of films coming out today? What kind of impact did BuckleRoos have on the industry?

Dean Phoenix: What's ironic about BuckleRoos is that it came out right before Brokeback Mountain... almost too ironic to say the least. To me, BuckleRoos was the happy version and Brokeback Mountain was the depressing version. BuckleRoos has raised the bar in a lot of ways with films in our industry. It's probably the closest to a mainstream film you can get.

GW: eXposed: The Making of a Legend, the documentary about the making of BuckleRoos, provided an intimate look at both the cast and crew of the film. How did you feel about being documented--about the finished documentary?

DP: I think the documentary helped make BuckleRoos that much more believable and much more magical as a film. The feelings were real and the cast and crew really wanted this to be an awesome movie, and you know what? It all came naturally and everyone got along. I've never been on a film and felt the love like I did with BuckleRoos... it was actually more about the experience then the actual film being produced. We had no idea that the documentary was going to be huge. The fact that we all just thought of the second camera being on us for shits and giggles was just maybe an added bonus of behind-the-scenes footage for the people out there to watch. I didn't mind being documented because everything about this experience made it fun.

GW: How did winning the GayVN Award for "Best Actor" for BuckleRoos affect your career?

DP: Winning Best Actor really helped me realize how much passion and heart I had put into it. There were other actors that were really good as well... for instance, Marcus Iron. It makes me want to learn more about acting techniques. It really hasn't changed my career since I have other jobs, it's just more about self-awareness.

GW: Tell me more about your experience working on Buckshot Studio's LeatherBound. What kind of relationship with leather and the leather community do you have in your personal life?

DP: (laughs) About the only leather I come in contact with in my regular life is the leather jacket I wear on a cold night. I love leather, but I don't really incorporate it in my every day routine--not to say that I wouldn't be partial to being put in a sling with my partner and wearing it to satisfy our fantasy! Being in Leatherbound was an awesome experience. It makes me appreciate leather and people who wear it wear a hell of a lot more now. You don't really give it enough thought until you play with it. (laughs) I gotta say I love the smell of leather and actually was thinking of going into a leather store and seeing if they sell liquid leather! Leather in a bottle.

GW: You've mentioned studying art in college. Have you seen any shows or exhibits in Los Angeles lately?

DP: I haven't taken up Art since college... seems like I keep it on the back burner though. I'm studying to be a personal trainer and also screen-printing t-shirts and incorporating logos from my own designs. It's still in the process though--I'm trying to buy more equipment.

GW: What do you have planned next?

DP: Planned next? Hmmm... as far as a movie? Well, if the right script and timing comes along, who knows. I'm trying to get my Web site up this year as well. Just trying to stay happy and living the dream.
